We are an informal group of about 12 adults that each own 14 foot Laser sailboats, and race them once a week, from Memorial Day to Labor Day +/- a week or two. We keep our boats at Philadelphia Pier 3 Marina, (adjacent to La Veranda Restaurant) on the Delaware River. The competition is fairly low level, more for fun than any kind of recognition. Some of our members sail in more structured regattas at other locations, but still enjoy our weekly races. We sail each Tuesday evening between about 6:00 PM and sunset, and get in as many (short) races as possible, usually between 5 and 8 races, depending on the conditions which include wind and current strength and available daylight hours, and number of boats on the line. If you are a sailor, and are interested in joining us, we are happy to have new members. Even if you don't have a laser, we can probably fix you up with a loaner.
